Hiring a birth photographer frees up your support people and ensures you get those important moments captured. Birth & labor are very unpredictable and therefore these are not typical portrait sessions. The lighting may be dim, and planning what’s going to happen can be difficult. I shoot your labor & birth as it unfolds, in a photo-journalistic style. I will be sensitive to your needs as a laboring woman and understand that my role is to document quietly and unobtrusively. Having been on both sides of the birth process, I also understand which special moments you may want and how to ensure that they are captured forever.
Your birth session fee includes:
- On call (24/7) availability in the weeks leading up to your "guess date" and the weeks following if needed.
- All final images from birth on a USB drive with a print release.
- a $150 print credit to purchase wall art, prints, albums or birth announcements.
-A complimentary in-studio newborn session ($150 value) included, print credit can be used towards any purchases from your newborn session if you prefer.
- Online, custom designed birth announcement video
(newborn session does not include digital files)
**Your birth should take place in a relaxed no pressure environment. I will take steps to ensure I do not come too early or too late.
**Travel fees are .60 a mile outside of Bloomington/Normal to and from your birthing facility.

Please contact me to request payment plan information or special arrangements! A non-refundable retainer of $250 is required at the time of contract signing / booking. The retainer frees up my time surrounding your guess date so that I am the most available I can be for your birth. The remaining amount is due 1 week before your "guess date" or "due date" unless a payment plan has been set up (some parents choose to pay at the birth after the session has ended). In the event of an emergency c-section in which the hospital will not allow a photographer (its always good to prepare ahead and ask) Your retainer will be placed towards a Fresh 48 package of your choice OR used as credit towards a newborn session in the studio.
