Mentoring sessions are super laid back. We will spend time with a pre-consult phone conversation to cover any questions you may have prior to the session and let me know what areas you wish to improve with your newborn photography. We will go over how I prep clients for their newborn session as well. If you wish, portfolio critique can be done at this time.

 

A model call for 2 newborns will be done so I can ensure we get the chance to cover different poses and get a feel for how to deal with different types of babies (the awake baby, the sleepy baby ect.)

 

Newborn sessions will take place over 2 days time back to back on a weekday, so plan to travel to my studio location in Normal Illinois twice.

 

You will help me set up both days. During this time we will cover light placement (studio and natural), bean bag set ups, co-hesive set planning ect... 

 

You will have the chance to watch my workflow through each entire session as well as photograph, with my guidance, each pose. These images will make excellent additions to your portfolio. 

 

During the session we will cover wrapping, lighting, parent posing, natural posing and solutions for when baby doesn't love certain poses or isn't sleepy. We will work on the bean bag and with props.

 

Once each session is completed we will have a Q&A session during clean up/break down. You can ask me anything, and we can clarify anything from the client experience, pricing, and even in person sales. 

 

 

WHAT IS MY AIM?

 

To have you leaving my mentoring session with the knowledge of how to run a smooth, cost effective, and efficient Newborn Photography Studio. I will always be available for any questions you may have afterwards, and if I develop a new marketing strategy or in person sales strategy even a year down the line, if I see success with it - you will be the first to know about it!

 

You will not have a better support or cheerleader than me :)

**One day mentoring is with 1 baby. Variety in poses and options may be limited. All babies are so different and there is no guarantee, even with the many tricks to get babies nice and sleepy, that we will end up with a super sleepy easily posed baby. The beauty of this is that you will still learn all the ways you can get gorgeous shots even when baby is wide awake or even fussy which are important skills that I wish I had learned early on in my career.

 

*Attendies must not teach any workshops (online or in person) create any teaching videos ect. within 2 years of mentoring session date.
